The Ladies Auxiliary of the Yukon Order of Pioneers

In 1971 "The Ladies Auxiliary of the Yukon Order of Pioneers" was started. Shortly after they started the "Friendship Hour", for all seniors. This became a very popular gathering. Members transported seniors that needed rides. We took turns supplying tea and coffee with sandwiches and goodies, etc. The first hour we played Bingo. If someone wanted to play cards, this was available too.

The Ladies Auxiliary was organized November 29th, 1971 for the Ladies that have resided in Yukon for 20 years. The organization has 8 meetings each year, excluding June, July, August, and December.

Our goal is to support and encourage Seniors to be active and socialize and maintain a healthy life style to the best of their ability. Our Constitution reads: “Do unto others as you would be done by”. The main fundraising project of the Auxiliary is raffel ticket and Bazaar and Tea, which is held in November of each year.

We welcome new members. If you are interested please feel free to call our Membership Committee at 393-3097 or ask any of our members for a membership application.
